According to Motor Trend, McLaren is planning to introduce a new entry-level model to its product line in 2014.

Code named P13, the new McLaren will be unveiled shortly after the P1 and would position itself on the market as an alternative to the better equipped Porsche 911’s. At least, as long as pricing goes.

According to the manufacturer, the car would be more affordable than the MP4-12C, more practical than the rest of the range by offering a boot and would become the best selling product in the range – with annual sales of 2,000 to 2,500 units being anticipated. We should also expect a design similar to the one of the curvaceous P1.

The P13 would feature a less extreme version of the MP4-12C’s twin-turbo V8 producing around 500 horsepower.
