If, like many people, you are dreaming of owning a Chevrolet Corvette but can’t because of its price tag, the following story should interest you.

According to Motor Trend, a more affordable version of the Corvette (not bearing the Stingray name ) would be part of GM’s plans for 2015.

The car in question is the Corvette Coupe and is said to use a 5.3-litre V8 unleashing less than 400 horsepower while sporting some cosmetic changes to the front fascia, front fender, and rear diffuser.

According to the rumor, its U.S. price would go below the $ 50,000, which is less than the $ 50,595 required to buy a base 2013 Corvette with a manual tranny.

Stay tuned for updates!
