Watch a Formula 1 Driver’s Real Point Of View Thanks to this Clever Eye-Level Camera
The following video was filmed at Spa-Francorchamps with a camera placed on one eye of Formula 1 driver Lucas di Grassi. The intended purpose? Reproduce with great accuracy what a pilot sees when driving.
The end result is quite specracular, but it is not be expected that this technology will soon be used to cover the F1 events, as di Grassi was forced to drive with one eye closed for the duration of the test.

Never heard of video glasses? It’s essentially a pair of glasses (doesn’t need to prescription) that have a camera mounted in the frame… No need to block the eye, or if you need an hd camera that just won’t fit beside the eye in the frame of the glasses, just set up a micro screen to play the output of the camera in real time… the way this is set up would make sense if it were 1990, but there was no need to make the driver blind in one eye for the video.
